Juanfe Foundation is a non-profit organisation that seeks to improve the quality of life of children and teenage mothers in poverty conditions mainly in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
In 2016 Art+Believe got involved, they wanted to give the students the opportunity to create a permanent piece of artwork for their foundation, something that was a true community collaboration.
They took inspiration from the Colombian tribal patterns of the Wayyuu tribe and set about embracing the community, working with them to create something special.
Everyone has a vision
This was a project that touched Art+Believe, they wanted the artwork to be an all encompassing achievement of the whole community, not just a commission of theirs. They hosted workshops and planned the mural artwork with the people.
Everyone got involved and worked together to execute a painting of real meaning and feeling onto one of the exterior walls at the foundation.
